Polished porcelain tiles are coated with a fine wax coating, which protects them from scratching during transport and retains the beautiful polished finish.
Occasionally, the wax is applied as the tile comes out of the kiln. This can send the wax deep into the tile making it particularly difficult to remove after the tiles have been laid.
Even seasoned professionals may struggle to remove the wax coating perfectly and provide you with the best possible finish for your floor.
